Job summary

Carle Health's 9B Neurology unit in Illinois is seeking an experienced RN to deliver high-acuity care for stroke, neurosurgery and brain injury patients. You will perform assessments, develop care plans, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians, families and therapies to ensure safe and timely patient progression.

The role requires current IL RN license, BLS within 30 days, NIH Stroke Scale proficiency, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse in Illinois with current license.
• BLS required within 30 days of hire.
• Experience in neurology/neurosurgery or high-acuity care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial assessments and develop care plans per unit standards.
• Administer medications, monitor vitals and respond to changes in patient status.
• Ensure safety, document care, and communicate with the healthcare team.
• Maintain patient and family education, coordination with PT/OT/Speech.
• Support early ambulation and maintain a safe, clean unit environment.
