Job summary

University of Kansas Medical Center seeks a Neuro Interventional Radiologic Technologist to support diagnostic, interventional and therapeutic imaging in a hospital setting. The role requires sterile technique, documentation and teamwork within a busy radiology department.

Responsibilities include assisting during procedures, maintaining licensure, adhering to safety policies, and contributing to patient safety initiatives. On-call duties and overtime may be required to ensure patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer associates degrees in Radiologic/Cardiovascular/Vascular or a healthcare-related field, or a Bachelor in healthcare-related field.
• 1+ year experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology or Electrophysiology Lab.

Responsibilities

• Assist during physician-supervised procedures with sterile prep of access areas, procedure trays and related supplies.
• Document use of contrast material and ensure proper documentation of patient charges.
• Maintain competency to perform radiologic imaging across vascular, spinal, chest, abdomen, pelvis and extremity locations.
• Complete mandatory educational assignments as directed by supervisor or director.
• Follow confidentiality, HIPAA, and safety policies and guidelines.
• Report any action detrimental to coworkers, patients, physicians or the organization.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment; ensure rooms/equipment are cleaned before each procedure.
• Adhere to infection reduction policies and procedures.
• Maintain licensure, life support certification, and IV competence.
• Understand inventory tracking and order supplies as needed.
• Maintain radiation protection and wear monitoring devices during procedures.
• Participate in patient safety time-outs and post-procedure huddles.
• On-call responsibilities and overtime may be required to complete patient care needs.
• Assist in technologist preceptorship and Radiology resident training.
• Perform professional, clinical and technical competencies of the unit as required.
