Job summary

Catholic Health is seeking a Neuro ICU / Neuro Step-Down Registered Nurse for Good Samaritan University Hospital in Islip, NY. You’ll care for interventional, stroke and neuro-surgical patients as part of an interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.

Required: 1+ year RN experience in CCU/ICU or step-down, cardiac/invasive monitoring with arrhythmia interpretation, NY RN license, BLS and ACLS; BSN preferred (Associates accepted if enrolled in BSN).

Qualifications

• 1+ years RN experience in Critical Care (Neuro ICU/CCU/ICU/CTICU/CVICU) or step-down
• Cardiac and invasive monitoring knowledge and arrhythmia interpretation
• BSN degree required; Associates degree considered if enrolled in BSN program
• New York RN license; BLS and ACLS required; CCRN preferred

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, administer meds, document progress, and manage care for neuro/interventional stroke and neurosurgical patients
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction
• Advocate for patients and families through safety interventions, support, and education
