Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Neuro ICU is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care for patients with life-threatening neurological conditions. The role involves assessments, plan development, and interdisciplinary collaboration in a state-of-the-art 24-bed unit.

Ideal candidates hold a TX RN license (or NLC), a BSN preferred, and current BLS/ACLS with NIHSS certification. Prior Neuro ICU experience is highly desired.

Qualifications

• RN license in Texas or NLC multi-state license required.
• Registered nursing degree from an accredited program; BSN preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required or as stated by the department.
• NIHSS certification is required or strongly preferred.
• Neuro ICU experience is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive nursing assessments across age groups.
• Develop and adjust care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Prioritize interventions and monitor patient condition changes.
• Educate patients and families; document discharge planning and education.
• Maintain compliance with ANA standards and hospital policies.
