Job summary

CommonSpirit Memorial in Tennessee is seeking a Neuro ICU RN to apply nursing process and professional standards in daily practice, delivering detailed assignments and interventions for neurologic patients.

You will provide compassionate, patient-centered care, monitor for acute changes, manage rapid clinical evolutions, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to maintain safety, dignity and healing.

Qualifications

• RN license in Tennessee required at hire.
• CPR/BLS certification required at hire.
• ACLS to be completed within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostic and patient monitoring (detection and escalation of acute changes).
• Administration and monitoring of therapies and medications per patient rights.
• Manage rapidly changing situations with proactive assessment and response.
• Organize workload to meet multiple patient needs efficiently.
• Contribute to a healing environment and act as patient advocate.
• Assess and explain patient condition to promote learning and understanding.

As our Neuro ICU RN, you will incorporate knowledge of the nursing process and professional standards of nursing into your daily practice, applying knowledge of growth and development to perform detailed assignments and interventions.

Every day you will provide consistent care tailored to the changing physical and psychosocial needs unique to each patient, ensuring comprehensive and compassionate support within a neuroscience context.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional critical thinking and adaptability, consistently delivering high-quality, patient-centered care that addresses the complex and evolving needs of neurological patients.

• Diagnostic and patient monitoring (detection and recognition of acute changes and escalation or concerns/critical results).
• Administration and monitoring therapeutic interventions and regimens (starting/maintaining intravenous therapies, administering medication per patients’ rights, preventing falls and skin breakdown and following policies in relation to safety measures).
• Effective management of rapidly changing situations (identifying, assessing and anticipating needs).
• Organization and work rule competencies (prioritizing, coordination and meeting multiple patient needs in a timely manner).
• Helping Role (consistently contribute to a healing environment, providing patient comfort and support for human dignity, serving as a patient advocate and building and maintaining a therapeutic environment.
• Teaching-Coaching Function (assess and evaluates the patient’s readiness and ability to learn, effectively explains a patient’s condition and their interpretation of his or her illness.
