Job summary

Ochsner Health in New Orleans is seeking a qualified Certified Nursing Assistant to assist with patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. You will help maintain patient safety, support the plan of care, and ensure high-quality care delivery in a busy hospital setting.

Preferred hospital and telemetry experience, CNA certification, and BLS within 30 days of hire are required; CPI must be obtained within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred hospital and telemetry experience.
• Current CNA certification; BLS within 30 days; CPI within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Supports the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment in the patient care area.
• Provides care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned areas.
• Communicates patient care needs effectively with patients, families, and other staff members, including multi-disciplinary teams.
• Completes documentation of patient related tasks.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
