Job summary

Johnston-Willis Hospital in Richmond, VA, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care within the nursing team and department standards. You will collaborate with providers and care teams to ensure safe, compassionate care aligned with clinical practices.

The role requires Virginia RN licensure or a compact license, BSN preferred, ACLS/BCLS within 30 days, and 1 year of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a compact license.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• 1 year experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding.
