Job summary

OU Health’s Neurology Care Unit seeks a Care Team Associate to support neuro patients under RN supervision. You will perform routine patient care tasks, take vital signs, and assist with telemetry and wound care in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians, nurses, and family members while maintaining documentation accuracy and patient safety. Training for Yale swallow screening and NIHSS certification is provided as part of the unit’s development

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required.
• CPCT, PCTC or AUA certification required.
• Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and procedures; ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, monitor patient health status and implement the plan of care.
• Take/record blood pressures, temperatures, pulse and weights; perform glucose monitoring.
• Set up telemetry and manage sterile dressings or wound care
• Assist with admissions, discharges and transfers; transport patients as needed.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms and restock supplies; may precept new CTAs.
