Job summary

Yale New Haven Health seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to assess, plan, implement, and supervise patient care on a nursing unit. The RN collaborates with the healthcare team, documents outcomes, and provides patient education. Preceptor and charge nurse responsibilities may be required.

Required: Connecticut RN license and BLS. BSN preferred; proficiency with electronic medical records and internet literature searches is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program with active RN licensure.
• BSN preferred and ability to use electronic records.
• Proficiency in EMR and internet literature searches.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and plan care with input from patient and family.
• Coordinate and implement care plans with the healthcare team.
• Document outcomes, monitor progress, and adjust plans as needed.
• Provide education to patient and family; act as preceptor or charge nurse as needed.
• Perform duties to ensure smooth department operations; manage ventilated patient care.
• Demonstrate competency in neuro patient care and airway management.

Works Under The Supervision Of The Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator. The Registered Nurse (Rn) Assesses, Plans, Implements, Evaluates And Supervises Individual Patient Care On A Nursing Unit/Department According To Unit Policies And Procedures. Provides Supervision Of Non-Rn Personnel On The Assigned Unit. When Assuming The Charge Role, Delegates And Supervises Unit Activities. May Be Requires To Work On Other Nursing Units According To Distribution Of Staff And Patients. Performs Other Duties As Assigned Or Requested In Order To Maintain A High Level Of Service.

Qualifications
