Job summary

Indiana University Indianapolis, Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics, is seeking a laboratory staff member for a limited-term position under the direction of PI Jason Meyer, PhD. The role focuses on stem cell culture and neural differentiation for in vitro disease modeling.

You will perform a wide range of cellular, molecular, and analytical techniques, maintain equipment, assist with regulatory compliance, train junior staff, and contribute to project reports.

Responsibilities

  • Researches differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells into neural lineage cells for in vitro disease modeling.
  • Performs cellular reprogramming to generate iPSC lines and differentiates into neurons/astrocytes.
  • Prepares reports and analyses of experiments.
  • Maintains equipment and serves as liaison for training of junior staff.
  • Performs laboratory ordering and regulatory procedures (IACUC, IRB, safety).
  • Conducts cell culture, molecular biology, and gene editing techniques.
