Job summary

The Biological Computing Co. (TBC) in Baltimore is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support electrophysiology research and neuronal culture activities in our wet lab.

You will prepare and maintain microelectrode arrays, assist with tissue processing, and ensure materials are ready for scheduled experiments. You will perform QC checks, keep accurate records and troubleshoot issues affecting culture health or data quality, while collaborating with biology and engineering teams to scale our

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry or closely related field.
• Hands-on experience in a biological or biomedical research lab.
• Familiarity with mammalian cell culture or neural tissue preparation.
• Experience handling small laboratory rodents and tissue collection.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols.
• Excellent organizational, documentation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and work with others.
• Ability to work full-time on site in Baltimore lab.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain microelectrode arrays (MEAs) and related materials.
• Support neuronal culture and tissue processing workflows.
• Perform quality-control checks on MEA systems and data.
• Document experimental conditions, deviations and results accurately.
• Assist with electrophysiology experiments and data collection.
• Maintain laboratory safety, cleanliness and inventory.
• Collaborate with biology, neuroscience and engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Support animal research under approved IACUC protocols.
