Job summary

NetCov seeks a Network Team Manager to lead a team in designing, implementing, and maintaining client network infrastructure, ensuring performance, security, and scalability.

You will develop network strategies, mentor engineers, manage client projects, and collaborate with account managers to ensure smooth handoffs and successful deployments.

The role requires strong leadership, deep technical knowledge across on-prem and cloud, and excellent communication with both technical teams and clients.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of IT infrastructure management experience.
  • At least 3 years in a management or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of on-premises and cloud network technologies.
  • Experience with ITIL and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a network engineering team to design, implement, and maintain client networks.
  • Define network strategies aligned with customer objectives and KPIs.
  • Mentor team members and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Manage client projects, timelines, budgets, and escalations.
  • Collaborate with account managers to ensure smooth post-deployment handoffs.
  • Monitor network performance and drive optimization and security improvements.

About the Role

The Network Team Manager will lead and oversee a team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our clients' network infrastructure. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strategic approach to ensure optimal network performance, security, and scalability.

Accountabilities
  • Network Strategy and Architecture Leadership
    • Develop and implement network strategies aligned with business objectives
    • Design and oversee the implementation of complex network architectures
    • Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to network infrastructure
  • Team Mentorship and Development
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network engineers and specialists
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
    • Identify skill gaps and implement training programs to enhance team capabilities
  • Client Relationship and Escalation
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for high-profile client projects
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with new clients during the project process
    • Collaborate with account managers to ensure a smooth handoff post-deployment
    • Address escalations and resolve complex issues during the project phase
  • Project Profitability and Resource Scheduling
    • Oversee the planning and execution of all client projects
    • Develop project timelines, resource allocation plans, and risk mitigation strategies
    • Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets
    • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate resources and expertise as needed
  • Network Performance Optimization and Standards
    • Monitor network performance and implement optimization strategies
    • Troubleshoot complex network issues and implement effective solutions
    • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for network operations
    • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the infrastructure team
    • Implement data-driven decision-making processes to improve team efficiency and effectiveness
    • Ensure timely delivery of projects and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs)
    • Drive continuous improvement in team performance and client satisfaction
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of on-premises infrastructure, Microsoft 365, cloud platforms, and operating systems
  • Proven experience in managing cloud migration projects
  • Excellent understanding of IT service management principles and best practices
  • Strong project management skills and experience with relevant methodologies (e.g., ITIL, Agile)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client relationship management skills
