Meet the Team

As a Networking Solutions Engineer, you will primarily partner with a Networking Account Executive. You will also collaborate with Portfolio Account Teams, Partners, and cross-functional teams to promote Cisco Networking brand preference among our customers.

Your role involves working directly with customers to gather detailed requirements and recommend suitable products and solutions to achieve their business goals. You will also work with Business Entity teams to influence product features and roadmap to meet customer demands.

Your Impact

You will be part of the Americas Networking Organization as a Solutions Engineer, building relationships with key decision-makers. Your responsibilities include showcasing Cisco Networking solutions, focusing on Secure networking (Routing, Switching, Wireless, Automation), leading RFP responses, demonstrating products, conducting Proof of Value activities, and designing solutions tailored to customer needs.

This is a pre-sales technical role requiring a passion for technology and customer interaction. You should be adept at communicating complex architectures and solutions to audiences from Managers to Directors and above, and comfortable speaking publicly.

You will stay updated on networking trends, competitive products, and industry developments. Strong teamwork and consultative skills are essential, along with the ability to demonstrate solutions and conduct multi-architectural PoC tests. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Partnering with Account Executives to drive business growth
  2. Driving demand generation activities
  3. Enabling internal and external technology capabilities
  4. Understanding customer needs and mapping technical solutions
  5. Serving as a trusted network design advisor
  6. Deep knowledge of Cisco products and solutions
  7. Performing product demos and PoC labs
  8. Maintaining awareness of competitive solutions
  9. Following market trends to anticipate customer needs
  10. Collaborating across business units
  11. Helping customers with complex digital transformation opportunities
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience in designing Routing, Wireless, and Switching deployments, both On-Prem and Cloud
  • 5+ years expertise in networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, LISP), network segmentation technologies, and management
  • Knowledge of competitors like HPE/Aruba, Juniper, Arista, Fortinet
  • Customer-focused attitude
  • Strong wired and wireless campus network expertise
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Solutions Engineering or Pre-sales experience
  • Cisco Certifications (CCNP, CCIE) a plus
  • Strong Cisco product background
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in EE/CS or equivalent
  • Critical thinking skills for customer concerns and business growth
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of APIs and programmability a plus
