CHR Creative, a security-first managed services and IT risk management firm based in Milwaukie, Oregon, is seeking a seasoned Network Engineer. Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a Network Engineer or comparable position, ideally in an MSP or multi-site environment.
• Hands-on expertise with firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless networking.
• Solid grasp of networking protocols, routing, and switching fundamentals.
• Experience deploying and supporting hosted VoIP systems in SMB settings, including cutovers and number porting.
• Familiarity with QoS configuration and network segmentation for voice traffic.
• CCNA/CCNP or equivalent credentials.
• Experience in MSP environments or managing networks for multiple clients.
• Experience with PSA tools such as Autotask and documentation platforms like IT Glue.
• Knowledge of cloud networking (Azure or AWS) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and proactive troubleshooting mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to explain technical issues to non-technical clients.
• Strong documentation habits and ticket closure discipline.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure (firewalls, managed switches, VLANs, wireless controllers, access points).
• Plan, deploy, and administer hosted VoIP solutions including number porting, provisioning, cutover coordination, and client training.
• Troubleshoot voice quality issues, call routing problems, and connectivity failures.
• Configure QoS and network segmentation to support dependable voice traffic.
• Monitor and optimize network performance to minimize downtime.
• Implement network security controls and review firewall policies per client risk profile.
• Collaborate with clients to assess networking and voice needs and deliver tailored solutions.
• Coordinate with internal teams to communicate timelines and manage client expectations.
• Provide expert guidance on network and VoIP best practices and improvement opportunities.
• Perform regular assessments, upgrades, and firmware updates to improve reliability and performance.
• Create and maintain detailed network diagrams, configurations, and procedural documentation.
• Log all work with complete notes and time in PSA and documentation systems.
• Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for network and voice issues.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours incidents.
