This Network Technician III position will support the Kentucky State Police South Communications Region which includes Posts 7, 10, 11, and 15. The technician will be part of a small team that will be required to maintain the radio network, remote radio sites, and the associated radio consoles within the South Region. Additionally, the technician will be required to maintain all mobile radios, radar systems, data routers, sirens, and lights. The technician will be required to work Monday through Friday and will be on-call 24/7.
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of network services, Information Technology (IT) systems support, IT production support, or a related field.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education in computer science, IT, or a related field will substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience in network services, IT systems support, IT production support, or a related field will substitute for required education on a year-for-year basis OR a certification in an IT related field will substitute for the required education.

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
