Wabtec is looking for an Engineering Technical Leader to develop and integrate ethernet communication networks for locomotive control systems. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.
Responsibilities include leading network architecture development, system integration, and performance validation. Competitive salary range of $91,000 to $129,800 is offered.
You will be part of Modular Control Architecture (MCA) software team. The MCA SW architecture is highly flexible, made up of many modular software, application, and hardware elements. While flexibility adds opportunity and capability, it also adds complexity, driving the importance of a robust platform SW and communication strategy. MCA is built on MBSE (Model Based System Engineering) principles for requirements management and test cases with full traceability built into the MBSE model.
The Engineering Technical Leader is responsible for the development and integration of ethernet communication networks supporting the locomotive control system. This role focuses on ensuring robust, reliable, secure, and scalable data exchange between distributed controllers, including locomotive supervisory controls, propulsion controls, engine controllers, I/O modules, and external interfaces.
Operating within the MCA (Modular Control Architecture) team, this role bridges network architecture, control system behavior, and validation, ensuring network communication supports locomotive control, performance, and cybersecurity expectations across multiple locomotive platforms.
You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

The salary range for this role is currently $91000-129800. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
