Job summary

Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Network & Systems Administrator. This role will be responsible for the implementation, administration, troubleshooting, monitoring, support, and documentation of the university's network and server infrastructure.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree (or 10 years of equivalent experience) and at least 5 years in network/system administration with information security experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or related field or ten (10) years of professional experience demonstrating equivalent knowledge.
• Five (5) years of experience in network administration, system administration, and information security.

Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, manage, maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and monitor campus network and telecommunication systems.
• Implement, configure, manage, maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and monitor campus virtualization, server and storage infrastructure and systems.
• Manage network and datacenter security including configuring, supporting, testing, and monitoring campus firewalls, access control lists, intrusion detection/protection systems, directory services, etc.
• Develop, manage, maintain, test, and monitor disaster recovery and data backup/restoration services for mission critical systems.
