Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Specialist to support mission-critical network operations within the federal defense sector. This position is on-site at Carderock, MD, and will provide direct network engineering, deployment, and technical support for operational environments supporting Department of the Navy missions through 2028.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of deployed network or operational IT support.
• Experience with Cisco routers and switches.
• IAT II Certification (CySa+, Sec+).
• Active Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide network technical guidance during deployments and exercises.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, firewalls, IDS/IPS, DNS, Active Directory, Exchange, and other enterprise network infrastructure.
• Support deployed units with computer and network operations, ensuring reliable connectivity and rapid issue resolution.
• Coordinate deployment logistics, including hardware and software requirements, travel documentation, equipment transportation, post-deployment reporting, and asset recovery.

This position is on-site at Carderock, MD. The Network Specialist will provide direct network engineering, deployment, and technical support for operational environments supporting Department of the Navy missions through 2028. Responsibilities for the Network Specialist include:

• Support deployed units with computer and network operations, ensuring reliable connectivity and rapid issue resolution.

Required Qualifications for the Network Specialist include:

• 2+ years of experience providing deployed network or operational IT support.
• Experience supporting Cisco networking environments, including routers, switches, and related technologies.
• Active IAT II Certification (CySa+, Sec+)
• Active Secret Clearance.
• CCNA certification preferred.

Compensation for the Network Specialist includes:

• Salary Range: $50,000 - $65,000 depending on experience
• Full Benefits Package: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Sick leave as required by law
