Role Summary:

The candidate will design, implement, and maintain network segmentation strategies leveraging Cisco ACI and VMware NSX to improve security, scalability, and efficiency.

This role is critical in ensuring secure and reliable network traffic flow, optimizing performance, and enforcing security across enterprise segments, and requires a proven expertise in deploying and managing Cisco ACI and VMware NSX environments, including micro-segmentation, VLANs, network policies, and performance optimization.

Requirements:

• 6+Experience in network engineering focused on network segmentation and security.
• Proven expertise deploying, managing, and optimizing Cisco ACI and VMware NSX in enterprise or data center environments.
• Skilled in micro-segmentation, VLAN configuration, and network policy creation within Cisco ACI and VMware NSX.
• Hands-on experience in network troubleshooting, traffic analysis, and performance tuning in complex environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy advanced segmentation using Cisco ACI and VMware NSX to enhance security and performance.
• Architect VLANs, security zones, and micro-segmentation policies aligned with business and security needs.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure segmentation supports overall IT strategy.
• Lead configuration and deployment of Cisco ACI and VMware NSX solutions.
• Integrate Cisco ACI with VMware NSX and other network tech to build scalable, agile architectures.
• Troubleshoot and optimize environments to ensure compliance and isolation.

iii. Security & Compliance

• Implement security policies via Cisco ACI and VMware NSX, adhering to standards like NIST, PCI-DSS, HIPAA.
• Partner with security teams to reduce attack surfaces and strengthen security posture.
• Automate segmentation and policies to enhance management and incident response.
• Use tools like Ansible, NetBrain, and Python for automation of segmentation configurations.
• Collaborate with DevOps and cloud teams to integrate segmentation into CI/CD and cloud architectures.

v. Performance Monitoring & Optimization

• Monitor network segment health and performance using Cisco ACI and VMware NSX tools.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks, vulnerabilities, and optimize security and efficiency.
• Work cross-functionally with Network, Security, and Cloud Engineering teams.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, policies, and procedures.
• Provide stakeholders with regular updates on segmentation status, performance, and security.
