Job summary

Software Engineering Institute | Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a Network Security Researcher on the Network Situational Awareness team to study threats and to develop methods of detection using netflow, metadata, and expanding telemetry to host-based and cloud sources.

You will gain insights from data to facilitate detections, collaborate with partners to interpret their data, and contribute to the NetSA Security tool suite while writing publications and delivering customer-specific

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical discipline with eight years of experience; or an MS with five years; or a PhD with two years.
• Willingness to travel to sponsor sites, conferences and offsite meetings as needed.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of War security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Research network threats to develop detection methods and tailor them for partner environments.
• Develop detection capabilities and provide new requirements for NetSA tool suite.
• Write publications and provide customer-specific training.
