Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join the GN&T Network Security Defense team. You will own real-time threat monitoring and incident response during breaches, and manage the vulnerability lifecycle across networks and applications.

You will help define robust security architecture, implement encryption and IAM controls, and drive security telemetry via SIEM tools such as Splunk, QRadar, Microsoft Sentinel and Elastic.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3+ years in network security or related field.
• Experience with SIEM tools for threat monitoring and incident response.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and network security fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Support threat monitoring and incident analysis during active incidents.
• Aid root cause analysis and produce clear remediation reports.
• Perform regular security control assessments to validate configurations.
• Collaborate with engineering and planning teams to embed secure design patterns.
• Lead security design efforts and contribute to threat detection improvements in SIEM.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
