Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced IT security professional to engineer and automate firewall and web application firewall capabilities across on‑premises and cloud environments. You will lead scripting-driven automation, implement new applications companywide, and support secure perimeter activities across multi-site enterprise infrastructure.

You will collaborate with business customers, respond to daily requests, improve evidence gathering for audits, manage queues, and provide clear status

Qualifications

• Typically 8–10 years of related professional IT experience.
• Extensive expertise implementing and administering firewalls, particularly Palo Alto Networks firewalls and other secure perimeter applications.
• Deep understanding of Palo Alto firewall configurations, policies, and best practices.
• Proficiency in Python, Perl, YAML, and PowerShell.
• Extensive experience with AWS security and CloudFormation Templates (CFT).
• Familiarity with Ansible and Terraform is a plus.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines is advantageous.
• Strong Linux skills.
• Proven networking and troubleshooting experience, focused on Palo Alto Networks products.
• Expertise supporting encryption and/or security appliance devices.
• Ability to prioritize tasks independently without direct management oversight.
• Ability to provide clear, documented status updates to management and team members.
• Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Equivalent professional experience accepted as an alternative to the degree; advanced studies/degree preferred.
• Ability to work a monthly on-call rotation.
• Ability to assist with troubleshooting firewall tickets.
• Ability to work non-regular first-shift hours for troubleshooting and on-call
