Job summary

The University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, GA is seeking a Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and monitor security systems across campus IT infrastructure. The role requires configuring perimeter and host-based firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and cloud security, while ensuring policy compliance and risk management.

You will collaborate with the Information Security team, support wireless networking, and participate in investigations and incident response.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field required.
Two years of experience with network security architectures including firewalls, intrusion detection, VPNs, cloud security, and NAC systems.
Experience with virtual infrastructure environments and related vulnerabilities and remediation.
Experience with Internet-based threats; experience with implementing and maintaining network security policies and ACLs.

Responsibilities

Engineer and integrate perimeter and host-based firewalls, IDS, VPNs, cloud security, and related solutions; design authentication infrastructure and secure protocols.
Develop, implement, and monitor device hardening for network security infrastructure; maintain diagrams and documentation for audit purposes.
Assist wireless network design, implementation, and diagnostics; support security reviews of emerging technologies and risk assessment.
Collaborate with Information Security on investigations, network forensics, and incident response.
Perform other duties as assigned.
