Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital is seeking a Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and support secure network solutions across on‑prem and cloud environments. You will work with Zscaler/SASE platforms, Zero Trust architecture, and cloud-delivered security controls to protect enterprise systems and data.

The role focuses on operational management of Cyber Security technologies, collaboration with infrastructure and application teams, and providing guidance on security operations,

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of experience in systems analysis, design, and administration.
  • Experience evaluating cyber security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
  • Experience with networking system administration or network monitoring.
  • Healthcare and/or CSOC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides operational management, design, development, and support of Cyber Security technology stack, processes, and infrastructure.
  • Maintains and monitors Cyber Security operations for efficiency, availability, and security.
  • Leads or assists with delivery of Cyber Security solutions to end users as an individual contributor or team member.
  • Analyzes, designs, and implements Cyber Security initiatives, including gathering requirements and translating business terms to technical requirements.
  • Acts as escalation point for operational issues related to Cyber Security infrastructure and processes (occasional after-hours).
  • Evaluates software tools and assesses operational feasibility of solutions; partners with vendors to optimize configurations.
  • Develops training materials for primary support roles and system documentation including DR plans.
  • Builds strong relationships with team members, IT departments, customers, end-users, and external contacts.

Job description

Overview:We are seeking a Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and support secure network solutions that protect enterprise systems, users, and data. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Zscaler or similar Secure Access Service Edge (SASE)/Security Service Edge (SSE) platforms, along with a strong understanding of Zero Trust Network Architecture (ZTNA) principles, network segmentation, secure remote access, and cloud-delivered security controls.
