Vaco is seeking a qualified OT Automation and Networking Engineer to design, develop, and commission OT equipment for industrial control systems. You will design OT network architectures, implement cybersecurity standards, and lead automation projects from concept to implementation.

The role requires a strong IT networking background, experience with VLANs, firewalls, and industrial protocols, and travel up to 40%. A 4-year degree and OT cybersecurity certification are preferred.

Formación

• 4 year college degree in any related field.
• 3-5 years experience in OT/industrial networking.
• OT Cybersecurity Certification preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, program, and commission OT equipment for industrial control systems.
• Design and maintain OT network architectures.
• Implement OT cybersecurity best practices and standards.
• Lead automation and controls projects from concept to implementation.
• Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, productivity, and efficiency.
• Create and maintain network architecture diagrams.
• Configure VLANs and firewall rules to segment OT and IT networks.
• Configure switches, firewalls, and servers on site after wiring is completed.
• Test and validate communications between OT and IT networks.
• Ensure builds meet EPA/cybersecurity standards within budget and schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, program, and commission OT equipment commonly found in industrial control systems.
• Design and maintain OT network architectures.
• Implement OT cybersecurity best practices and standards.
• Lead automation and controls projects from concept through implementation.
• Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, productivity, and efficiency.
• Create and maintain network architecture diagrams.
• Design and configure VLANs and firewall rules to properly segment and connect OT and IT networks.
• Configure switches, firewalls, and servers on site once electricians have pulled and terminated wiring.
• Test and validate communications between OT and IT networks.
• Ensure builds follow EPA/cybersecurity standards within budget and timeline constraints.

Technical Skills

• Firewalls, managed switches, servers
• Network Architecture Diagram Generation
• EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, OPC UA, Profinet, MQTT
• Strong general IT networking background: network architecture/diagram creation, firewall configuration, VLAN setup and segmentation.
• Comfortable with managed switches, servers, and firewalls.
• Cisco, Fortinet, or similar platform

Work Environment

• Office, industrial facilities, and field environments
• 10-40% travel may be required
