Job summary

Innova Solutions is seeking a Network Security Engineer in Atlantic City, NJ for a full-time contract (06-12 months) with possible contract-to-hire. The role focuses on configuring and testing security gateways, VPNs, and SOA security architectures, serving government customers, and delivering clear data-flow explanations.

Ideal candidates have CCNP Security/CISSP, strong TCP/IP knowledge, and experience with multi-vendor security deployments, FAA NAS exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; minimum six years related experience.
• Graduate Degree and minimum four years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform enterprise security gateway access control, baseline configuration management, and system performance testing to ensure requirements compliance.
• Act as engineering support to network security operations for testing and configuration of new information security products and services.
• Perform lifecycle testing and operational support on SOA-based security architectures to maintain compliance with NIST controls.
• Explain complex issues, data flows, and packet analysis to customers clearly.
• Perform packet captures and analysis to identify anomalous behavior and traffic patterns.

Job description

Network Security Engineer

Position Type: Full Time Contract, Possible Contract to hire

Duration: 06-12 months

Location: Atlantic City, NJ

As a Network Security Engineer, you will:

• Perform enterprise security gateway access control, baseline configuration management, and system performance testing to ensure requirements compliance.
• Act as engineering support to network security operations for the testing and configuration of new information security products and services.
• Perform lifecycle testing and operational support on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)-based security architectures to maintain compliance with customer-tailored National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) security controls.
• Be able to explain complex issues, data flows, and packet analysis to the customer in a way they can understand.
• Be able to perform packet captures and analysis of packet captures to identify anomalous behavior and traffic patterns.

Preferred Technical Skills & Experience

• Experience and demonstrated working knowledge of the OSI model and TCP/IP-based networking architectures and communications.
• Demonstrated ability to use packet capture utilities to understand TCP data flows and troubleshoot and resolve TC/IP network transport issues.
• Experience creating and maintaining site-to-site and client IPSec/VPN solutions.
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting security gateway solutions including Firewalls, NAT, and IPSec VPNs.
• Hands-on experience working with network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and servers
• Advanced certifications such as CCNP Security, CISSP, etc..
• Experience serving government customers in a network security environment a plus.
• Experience in FAA National Airspace System (NAS) telecommunications or air traffic management a plus
• Outstanding people and interpersonal skills. Capable of working well with internal & external customers.
• Strong listening, written and oral communication skills.

Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field minimum six (6) years of prior relevant experience.
• Otherwise, Graduate Degree and a minimum of four (4) years of prior related experience.
• Relevant network experience with security technology management, including system test, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting in a global enterprise environment.
• Experience integrating large complex multi-vendor solutions.

This Position needs FAA public trust clearance.

Pay Range:* $65-$70 per hour *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
