Job summary

Quantum Technologies LLC in Spring, TX seeks a Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and operate secure network infrastructure across global regions. You will manage firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS, collaborating with Cybersecurity, Projects, and internal customers to deliver strong security solutions.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Cisco ASA, FortiGate, Juniper SRX, and solid TCP/IP, routing, and NAT knowledge.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on network security experience.
• Experience with Cisco ASA (CSM), FTD (FMC), FortiGate (FortiManager), and Juniper SRX (Junos Space).
• Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, OSI, routing, ACLs, NAT, DNS.
• Knowledge of security technologies: firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, encryption, authentication, vulnerability management, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage network security technologies and services across regions and infrastructure environments (data centers, offices, edge).
• Operate and maintain network security appliances (Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper), including software upgrades, patching, and lifecycle activities.
• Build and manage network security infrastructure using DevOps practices and automation tools to reduce manual intervention.
• Support security operations including monitoring, analysis, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Evaluate security advisories/vulnerabilities and provide timely recommendations and mitigations.
• Participate in ad-hoc vulnerability assessments and incident response efforts.
• Coordinate with stakeholders across Cybersecurity, Projects, and internal customers to deliver secure network solutions.
• Develop and maintain operational processes, runbooks, and documentation for ongoing support.
• Participate in a global "follow-the-sun" on-call support rotation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in network security.
• Experience with network security platforms: Cisco ASA (CSM), FTD (FMC), FortiGate (FortiManager), Juniper SRX (Junos Space).
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, OSI model, routing/switching, ACLs, NAT, DNS.
• Familiarity with security technologies: firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, encryption, authentication, vulnerability management, and incident response.

Technical Skills & Tools

• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP and Internet technologies, IPS/IDS, firewall virtualization, VPNs, NAT, DNS.
• Automation & DevOps: GitHub, Terraform, Ansible, Python, REST APIs, Jenkins, Jinja2, YAML (experience with CI/CD concepts and tools is a plus).
• Cloud: Experience with AWS and Azure network security services and connectivity.
• Relevant certifications preferred but not required: Cisco (CCNA/CCNP Security), Fortinet (FCA/FCSS/NSE), CISSP, GIAC.
