TEKsystems is seeking a highly skilled Network Security Engineer for a critical infrastructure initiative focused on deploying an externally facing IIS application environment. The role leads network security design, reviews, and engineering execution, partnering with a small internal team to implement secure networking components.

The ideal candidate will own the networking portion from design validation through implementation and testing, delivering secure DMZs, subnets, routing, and firewall

Qualifications

• Experience designing and reviewing DMZ and internet-facing architectures.
• Ability to publish and secure external applications with verifiable security controls.
• Experience with IIS server environments and security testing for customer-facing apps.

Description

Client is seeking a highly skilled Network Security Engineer to support a critical infrastructure initiative involving the deployment of an externally facing IIS application environment. This consultant will serve as the primary network and security resource, partnering with a small internal technical team to review the current architecture, recommend improvements, and implement the required networking and security components.

This is a hands-on role requiring both technical leadership and engineering execution. The ideal candidate will be comfortable owning the networking portion of a project from design validation through implementation and testing.

• -Review and assess the proposed network and security architecture.
• -Provide recommendations and design modifications to improve security, performance, and scalability.
• -Design and implement secure DMZ environments for internet-facing applications.
• -Create and configure network subnets, VLANs, routing, and segmentation strategies.
• -Configure and optimize firewall rules and security policies required for application traffic.
• -Support secure external application publishing and connectivity.
• -Build and implement network configurations supporting an externally facing IIS server environment.
• -Conduct security reviews and validate that the solution meets security requirements.
• -Troubleshoot network connectivity, firewall, routing, and application accessibility issues.
• -Participate in deployment testing, user validation, and production readiness activities.
• -Document network configurations, security controls, and implementation procedures.
• -Collaborate closely with a small internal engineering team throughout the project lifecycle.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $90.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
