Job summary

TEKsystems seeks a senior Network Engineer III for a contract role in Kalamazoo, MI. You will join a small, collaborative team supporting ~70 locations, owning operations, infrastructure projects, security, and network modernization.

Responsibilities include Level 3 support for LAN/WAN/SD-WAN and data centers; troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and on-call participation; cloud connectivity with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud; and security initiatives with ISE and Palo Alto.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of enterprise networking experience.
• Strong Cisco networking background across multi-site environments.
• Healthcare or regulated industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 3 support for enterprise LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, and data center environments.
• Troubleshoot complex network incidents, performance issues, and outages; conduct root cause analysis.
• Participate in maintenance windows and on-call rotation; support routing and switching technologies (BGP, EIGRP, VLANs, QoS, MPLS, VXLAN, SD-WAN).
• Support cloud networking initiatives and connect on-prem to Azure/AWS/GCP; assist security initiatives (ISE, Palo Alto).

Our healthcare client is seeking a Network Engineer III to join a small, highly collaborative networking team supporting approximately 70 locations across the enterprise. The team consists of 3 full-time network engineers and 1 contractor, creating an environment where engineers are expected to take broad ownership across operations, infrastructure projects, security, cloud connectivity, and network modernization initiatives.This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level network engineer who enjoys working in a hands-on environment, wearing multiple hats, and driving strategic network initiatives while supporting operational excellence.Enterprise Network Operations:Provide Level 3 support for enterprise LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, and data center environments.Troubleshoot complex network incidents, performance issues, and outages.Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.Participate in maintenance windows and on-call support.Support routing and switching technologies including BGP, EIGRP, VLANs, QoS, MPLS, VXLAN, and SD-WAN.Cloud & Hybrid Networking:Support cloud networking initiatives involving VPNs, cloud connectivity, and hybrid network architectures.Configure and maintain connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.Support secure cloud-to-site networking solutions.Network Security:Support and help expand the organization's Cisco ISE environment.Assist with firewall administration within a Palo Alto environment.Support network access control, authentication, segmentation, and security initiatives.Monitoring & Automation:Utilize monitoring and observability platforms such as SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, and Cisco Catalyst Center.Support network automation initiatives using automation tools and scripting technologies.Improve operational visibility and efficiency through automation and reporting.Required Qualifications:6-8 years of enterprise networking experienceStrong Cisco networking backgroundExperience supporting multi-site enterprise environmentsIdeal Candidate Profile:The hiring manager emphasized that ownership mentality is just as important as technical experience.Successful candidates will:Treat the network as if they own itTake accountability for issues and follow them through resolutionBe proactive and self-motivatedThrive in a small-team environmentBe willing to jump between operational support and strategic projectsHave a \"go-getter\" mentality and strong sense of urgencyStrong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skillsExperience balancing operational support and project workAbility to work independently with minimal oversightExcellent communication and documentation skillsComfortable participating in an on-call rotation

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.
