Job description

The Metropolitan Opera is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Network Security Administrator to support our cybersecurity operations. This role is ideal for individuals with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in information technology security who are eager to contribute, learn, and grow in a dynamic environment. You will assist in monitoring, maintaining, and improving the organization’s information security posture.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Manage security incident response processes and direct critical incident handling.
2. Oversee security operations across on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring comprehensive protection.
3. Lead security governance activities including policy development and security awareness programs.
4. Assist in managing firewalls, antivirus software, and other security tools.
5. Perform routine security audits and generate reports for review.
6. Help with user access reviews and the implementation of access controls.
7. Establish and oversee the enterprise vulnerability management program.
8. Document security procedures and assist in maintaining security policies.
9. Assist in preparing for security assessments, audits, or compliance reviews.
10. Manage vendor relationships.
11. Stay informed about the latest threats and industry trends.

Skills and Qualifications

1. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2. Understanding of IT systems, networking, and cybersecurity concepts.
3. Familiarity with Windows/Mac operating systems and security principles.
4. Good communication and problem-solving skills.
5. Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience with security platforms such as Rapid7, CrowdStrike, CarbonBlack, Defender, Intune, Kandji, or Beyond Identity.
2. Knowledge of compliance standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, or GDPR.
3. Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or equivalent.

Working Environment

1. Hybrid: 3-4 days a week in the office.
2. Occasional after-hours work to respond to incidents or perform updates.

$105,000 - $125,000 a year
