Job summary

Omaha Public Schools is seeking a Network Analyst for network security and access support. The role focuses on securing OPS networks, auditing for security gaps, configuring firewalls, web filtering, and managing identity services (Cisco ISE).

Responsibilities include implementing Cisco ISE, maintaining Palo Alto devices, and guiding security improvements while collaborating with IMS to support staff and students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with data center, enterprise switching, and routing technologies (Cisco Nexus/Catalyst).
• Experience deploying Cisco IOS/IOS-XE, EIGRP/BGP/OSPF, IPvpn, and enterprise Wi-Fi.
• Knowledge of IDS/IPS and network security monitoring; understanding of Zero Trust concepts.
• Familiarity with Cisco ISE, IEEE 802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+, and certificate-based auth.

Responsibilities

• Implement Cisco ISE in wired and wireless environments with policy focus.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and remediate Cisco ISE issues in schools and buildings.
• Build load balancers for servers and plan hardware/software refreshes for Cisco ISE.
• Manage Palo Alto firewalls' rules and security configurations; review best practices.
• Monitor and maintain Advanced Endpoint Protection: Cortex XDR and alarms.
• Interface with end-users and IMS User Support to design and implement security solutions.
• Escalate network problems and provide input to the Network Services team.
• Keep up with tech developments and share knowledge with staff.
