Job summary

Network Operations – Tier 2 at Gettysburg, PA, is a hands-on role within the ECS3 program. You will coordinate with the Network Operations Center to manage break/fix, updates, and upgrades for routers/switches, while drafting SOPs and supporting turn-key network deployments across sites.

Ideal candidates have TS/SCI with poly, CCNA, and extensive experience with Cisco/Juniper devices and TACLANES (KG-175). You’ll work independently with some supervision in remote locations as needed.

Qualifications

• IAT II (Security+) required.
• CCNA certification required.
• Active TS/SCI with a polygraph or ability to obtain polygraph before start.
• 10+ years of relevant network experience; degree may substitute for 5 years.
• Familiarity with Cisco and Juniper devices.
• Strong routing protocol knowledge: BGP, OSPF, VRF, MPLS, 802.1x.
• In-depth TACLANES (KG-175) configuration, fault isolation, firmware upgrades.
• Working knowledge of Cisco ISE.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with NOC and staff to address break/fix and changes.
• Perform IOS upgrades on routers/switches and hardware upgrades.
• Draft SOPs for network operations and security reviews.
• Resolve network issues, conduct root cause analyses, and document outcomes.

• Proactively research errors and route service requests for resolution.

Over the life of the contract, we will drive continual service improvement by tech modernization, for our (LANs), wide area networks (WAN), unified communication (UC), video telecommunication and streaming services. **Responsibilities:**As a Tier 2 Network Operations technician, you'll be challenged with enterprise support problems where you will coordinate with the Network Operations Center and other operational staff to address break/fix, configuration update, schedule add moves and changes, and technology upgrades and installs for Network routers and switches. As an experienced network team member, you’ll be expected to coordinate ticket acceptance and resolutions. You will support the development of technical resolution reports for critical outages in the Network.**More About the Role:**In this role the Network Administrator will be responsible for:* Conduct approved network changes to include but not limited to VLan, ACL and port assignment.* Perform IOS upgrades to routers and switches.* Perform routing and switching equipment technology upgrades to ensure continued operations of the enterprise.* Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for network operations.* Resolve systems failures and accessibility problems within the network to our services.* Support site survey and engineering designs data calls.* Support new/enhanced network implementation, installation, and technical refresh projects within a site or locale.* Works independently with some supervision. + In remote locations must function as independent engineering, maintenance, and network problem solving with minimal or intermittent input from other Tiers/locations.* Problems faced are difficult, will require detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation to understand problems.
