Job summary

GDIT seeks a Network Team Lead for our federal client in their Infrastructure team. You will guide the Network Operations Team to ensure the stable operation of CBP’s network infrastructure and support critical firewall and telecom systems.

Responsibilities include directing monitoring, prioritizing tasks, and coordinating hardware/software problem resolution. A Bachelor's degree and 10+ years’ experience, plus ITIL certification, are required.

• Bachelor's degree in related technical field (e.g. MIS, CS, Engineering, IT, Networking) or additional 4 years of related experience.
• 10+ years of related experience.
• Current ITIL 4 or ITIL 5 Foundation Certification required by customer.

Job Description:

GDIT seeks a Network Team Lead for our federal client in their Infrastructure team.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

• Provide technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations.
• Plan, organize, and direct the Network Operations Team to ensure the stable operation of CBP’s network infrastructure.
• Maintain, support, and optimize key functional areas, particularly network and firewall infrastructure, and telecommunications systems.
• Manage and set priorities for the monitoring and maintenance of network systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, and wireless.
• Manage and set priorities for the Network Management team.
• Ensure effective monitoring and response to hardware, software, and network problems.
• Coordinate and manage the routine testing and analysis of all elements of the network and firewalls
• Schedule and direct activities to resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Bachelor's degree in related technical field such as Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Networking and Telecommunications or an additional 4 years of related experience is required.
• 10+ years of related experience
• Current ITIL 4 or ITIL 5 Foundation Certification is required by the customer to be considered for this role.
• Working knowledge of networking concepts, infrastructure, and equipment (e.g. routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers).
• Experience implementing and administering an enterprise-wide monitoring system for servers, networking devices, and applications.
• Showcase leadership abilities by managing projects and teams.
• Proficiency in project managemen and have knowledge of security and compliance issues.

U.S. Citizenship and a background investigation are required; you must have a current clean financial background. The role requires flexibility to support issues or planned activities after hours, weekends and holidays as needed. Successful candidate must possess and be able to demonstrate technical skills and engineering attitude for success, dedication and commitment.

The likely salary range for this position is $147,292 - $199,278. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
