Job summary

Taleo is seeking a hands-on Network Technician to assist in maintenance of critical network infrastructure. You will perform IDF commissioning audits, label racks/IDFs, and deploy base device configurations while following MOPs and supporting change requests.

Ideal candidates bring strong attention to detail, reliable transportation, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds. On-call rotation participation will be required after training, with opportunities to grow in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assisting in critical network infrastructure environment maintenance tasks.
• Conducting IDF commissioning audit (handoff/closeout).
• Labeling racks/IDFs.
• Updating QC SOPs and MOP documents as needed.
• Deploying base config on network devices.
• Following established MOP procedures.
• Handling patching requests for copper and fiber.
• Performing IDF clean-up hygiene tasks at assigned locations.
• Carrying out MDF/IDF audits and JR audits.
• Troubleshooting basic break/fix issues and outages.
• Remediating IDF audits as directed.
• Supporting manager-requested projects and change requests.
• Assisting with power shutdowns.

Job description

• Assisting in critical network infrastructure environment maintenance tasks
• Conducting IDF commissioning audit (Handoff/Closeout)
• Correctly label racks/IDFs
• Assisting in updating existing QC SOP, & MOP documents
• Deploying base config on network devices as needed
• Following existing methods of procedure (MOP)
• Handling patching requests copper and fiber
• IDF clean-up hygiene tasks at assigned location(s)
• Performing MDF/IDF audits and JR audits
• Performing basic troubleshooting of break fix issues
• Performing basic troubleshooting during an outage
• Performing IDF audit remediation as directed
• Supporting projects requested by manager
• Providing support for change requests (CRs)
• Providing support for power shutdowns
• Rack-mounting switches and routers
• Reviewing and comment on MOPs
• Testing and troubleshoot basic copper and fiber links
• Testing and troubleshoot complex multipoint circuits
• Updating commonly used documents (Rack docs, Fiber mapping, Netcracker, Double Helix)
• Participating in the on-call rotation once training is completed

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Effective time management skills and the ability to work independently
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Must have reliable/personal transportation
• Keen attention to detail is required
• Ability to read and understand maps/diagrams
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds

Preferred:

• Certifications in technology specific areas, networking, or management preferred
• Experience installing Cisco equipment
• Certifications preferred: A+, N+, S+, (CompTIA Certs), MCP
• Experience using ITSM tools, ticketing systems, and reporting
• Experience with Google tools preferred (Google Sheets)
