Job summary

Gotham Technology Group in New York City is seeking a Network Operations Engineer to lead day-to-day management and improvement of a multi-site network infrastructure.

The role collaborates with Information Security, Systems, and Helpdesk teams while leveraging Cisco Nexus, Catalyst, ISE, Meraki, and SolarWinds for monitoring and optimization.

This in-office position requires 7–8 years of hands-on Cisco experience, strong documentation skills, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or a related discipline with 7–8 years of hands-on Cisco/network infrastructure experience.
• Deep knowledge of network architecture, routing and switching protocols, ACLs, 802.1x, VoIP, VXLAN.
• Experience with network management and ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow or JIRA.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and independent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate across IT teams and document systems clearly.
• Excellent communication and time-management in a fast-paced environment.

Location: Onsite in New York, NY (10022) - Fridays remote

About the Position

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Network Operations Engineer to lead the day-to-day management and continuous improvement of their multi-site network infrastructure.

Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure and Security, the successful candidate will maintain, upgrade, and optimize the firm's network environment. This role requires close collaboration with the Information Security, Systems, and Helpdesk teams to ensure all networking requirements for firm-wide initiatives are fully supported.

Strong, hands-on expertise with Cisco technologies - including Nexus, Catalyst, ISE, and wireless platforms - is essential, along with experience using network management tools such as SolarWinds. While the current environment is predominantly Cisco-based, a solid foundational knowledge of broader network architecture, routing and switching protocols, and emerging multi-vendor solutions is critical as they evolve toward a more hybrid infrastructure.

This is an in-office role based at their New York City headquarters.

Key Experience and Skills
