Senior Network Engineer (CCIE Enterprise)
The role offers a lot of variety across R&D, operations, and large-scale project deployments. You will need to be super competent in enterprise networking and comfortable in a multi‑vendor environment.
You will act as a technical lead for complex enterprise environments, understanding physical networking and being able to get hands dirty with tasks such as racking gear in a data center, configuring low‑latency Arista switches, or troubleshooting complex BGP issues.
Candidate Requirements
- Active CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure: Candidates must hold a full, active CCIE certification.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of senior‑level networking experience is required.
- Communication: Native‑level English communication skills are critical. You will be dealing directly with high‑level financial clients and internal stakeholders, so clarity and articulation are paramount.
- Location: You must be able to work on‑site in the New York area.
- Physical Networking: You need a solid understanding of the physical layer, including cabling standards, power requirements, and hardware installation.
- Transport: A valid driver’s license and access to personal transport is beneficial for reaching various client sites.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and advanced infrastructure network implementation, maintenance, and support activities.
- Analyze, isolate, and resolve network issues for internal and external constituents, covering technical, procedural, operational, and functional issues.
- Maintain network security and ensure compliance with security policies and procedures when implementing changes.
- Manage day‑to‑day responsibilities in supporting LAN/MAN/WAN, Cisco ACI, firewalls, proxies, load‑balancers, and DNS.
- Support the network infrastructure by analyzing the environment and infrastructure using various monitoring tools.
- Escalate to the Operations Line Manager or Engineering team for production issues where appropriate.
- Create and maintain written documentation and diagrams for supported systems.
- Help to drive network improvements and standardization for the network environments in Data Centers, Campus, and Remote Branch Offices.
Technical Competencies
- Multi‑Vendor Experience: Strong skills in Arista (EOS) are required alongside Cisco expertise. Experience with other vendors like Juniper, Fortinet, or Palo Alto is expected.
- Network Security: Strong understanding and experience with network security technologies is expected, including firewalls and VPNs.
- Routing & Switching: Expert level BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, and VXLAN.
- SDN: Hands‑on experience with Cisco ACI and SD‑WAN.
- Network Services: Strong knowledge of Load Balancing (F5/Citrix) and DNS/DHCP/IPAM.
- Cisco ISE & Catalyst Center: Experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and Catalyst Center (formerly DNA Center) is advantageous.
- Wireless: Understanding of wireless technologies and WLAN architectures is advantageous.
