The Opportunity

The Network Occupational Therapist for Prospect Schools will serve as a network leader and essential resource for meeting service needs of students across our seven campuses. This role offers our network the opportunity to fill a critical gap and offer students more effective and consistent services. The candidate will service caseloads directly where needed and likewise be positioned to design and implement generalized supports appropriate to our campuses, with a particular focus on executive function support. The candidate will exemplify our core values, and demonstrate a belief in the capability of all students, and an eagerness to support educators in implementing best practices as they relate to occupational therapy practices in the classroom.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Caseload servicing
  • Servicing caseloads of schools without current Occupational Therapy providers
  • Completing session planning, implementation, and documentation for all assigned students; not to exceed 12 sessions per day
  • To group students according to age appropriateness, session mandates, and IEP goals
  • To develop relationships with students and ensure students experience safety and belonging during sessions
  • Partner/Collaborate with teachers, parents, and Student Support Services (SSS) teams to implement strategies, and provide training on supporting students' physical and sensory needs
  • Communicate with families for the purposes of sharing praise, progress, and problem-solving
  • Maintain accurate records, including informal assessments, progress notes, and annual reports to track student progress
  • Attend and meaningfully participate in high-needs IEP meetings
Development of Curricular Tools
  • Crafting or contributing to the development of curriculum and resources that support classroom teams and learning specialists in infusing their pedagogy with supports that enhance executive skills and promote coherence across classes and divisions
  • Pushing in to observe and provide feedback to classroom teams and learning specialists as well as the coaches that support them in order to enhance the executive skills
Implementation of Student Groups
  • Create and service student groups for students based on needs related to occupational therapy
  • Create and communicate session goals
  • Track progress and adjust approach based on need
  • Integrate executive skills supports that align with occupational therapy needs
  • Communicate with families and school teams for the purposes of sharing praise, progress, and problem-solving
Professional support for Occupational Therapy Team
  • Facilitate cross-collaborative opportunities, including resource-sharing, best practice sharing, and solutions-generating amongst network of Occupational Therapy professionals
  • Identify structural enhancements to the partnership between agency-based Occupational Therapy providers and Prospect Schools to increase the retention of providers at the network
Required Qualifications
  • MSOT, OTD, OTR/L
  • 3-5 years working experience in direct student service in an educational setting
  • Strong data management, analysis, tracking and monitoring skills
  • Proficiency in SESIS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple competing deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Experience working with K-12 students and their families
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the International Baccalaureate program and its benefits

Salary

The salary range for this role starts at $90,000 , and increases based on relevant and direct years of experience. Our salaries are set through a lens of equity, and based on an individual's skills, education, and years of experience relevant to the role.
