Job summary

Progression Inc. is seeking a Network Engineer at Sterling, VA to design, implement and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across on-prem, virtual and cloud environments.

The role requires an active TS/SCI FS poly and 3–12+ years of progressive IT networking experience with Cisco routing and switching. Candidates should have 3+ years with firewalls and security technologies, cloud networking experience (AWS/Azure/Google/OCI), and the ability to work with engineering teams and customers

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret SCI with Full Scope Poly is required.
• 3 to 12+ years progressive IT network experience.
• 3–5+ years network engineering experience.
• 3–5+ years Cisco routing and switching experience.
• 3–5+ years of enterprise network infrastructure in secure environments.
• 3+ years TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VPN, and troubleshooting expertise.
• 3+ years with firewalls and network security technologies.
• 3+ years experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper or NetScaler tech.
• 3+ years experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google, OCI).
• Bachelor's degree preferred; certifications like CCNA/CCNP/CCIE/PCNSE are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, implement and maintain enterprise network infrastructure.
• Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs and network devices.
• Support network infrastructure across physical, virtual and cloud environments.
• Design and support VPCs, segmentation and secure cloud connectivity.
• Configure and harden network devices and Linux-based appliances.
• Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, VPN, SD-WAN, routing and connectivity issues.
• Support firewall policies and security requirements.
• Perform upgrades, maintenance and configuration management.
• Support network architecture, engineering and modernization initiatives.
• Collaborate with customers and engineering teams to translate requirements into solutions.
• Provide technical documentation and engineering support; after-hours triage when needed.

Multiple Positions and Levels (Jr.; Mid, Sr.; Lead ; SME)

MUST:

• Active Top Secret SCI – Full Scope Poly required
• Network Engineer
• 3 to 12+ years overall progressive IT Network experience
• 3 – 5 + years Network Engineering
• 3 – 5+ years Cisco Routing and Switching
• 3 – 5+ years of Enterprise network infrastructure in highly secure environments
• 3+ years TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VPN and network troubleshooting experience3+ years experience with firewalls and network security technologies
• 3+ years experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper and/or NetScaler technologies
• 3+ years experience with cloud networking environments such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or Oracle Cloud
• Ability to work effectively with engineering teams and customers
