Responsibilities

• Implements and owns quality assurance software for laboratory services.
• Serves on laboratory/hospital committees.

The Network Laboratory Quality Coordinator is responsible for the Quality Management Program of the Laboratory Services Department. The essential functions include collaborating with leadership designing procedures and processes that will ensure the high standards are maintained throughout laboratory services.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1. Designs, edits, implements, and maintains the quality management/performance improvement programs for the network laboratories (Clinical, Outpatient, Specialty) including but not limited to reporting and analytics, compliance, and industry trends.
• 2. Collaborates with laboratory services leadership (directors, managers).
• 3. Schedules and facilitates regular network quality committee meetings.
• 4. Collaborates with the leader assigned in Media Lab to ensure policies and procedures are in accordance with network and laboratory accrediting standards. Implements and maintains Media Lab Inspection Proof software to ensure compliance.
• 5. Maintains maintenance of Network Hospital lab-focused policies outside of the laboratory department. (Policytech).
• 6. Coordinate/perform mock inspections as requested by laboratory services managers. Responsible for performing/providing resources necessary for inspection and summary of findings back to management.
• 7. Is responsible for NJ DOH application annual submission for the core/specialty laboratory.
• 8. Remains knowledgeable of current CAP/CLIA/JC/DOH requirements and industry trends for laboratory services.
• 9. Facilitates the CAP/CLIA/DOH certificate process ensuring certificates are current and archived.
• 10. Implements and owns quality assurance software program for laboratory services.
• 11. Serves on various laboratory/hospital related committees.
• 12. Other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

Sitting up to 7 hours per day - 2-hour increments. Standing up to 5 hours per day - 2-hour increments. Walking - up to 7 hours per day - short increments. Continuous use of hands for operation of computer keyboard. Occasional lifting of boxes/equipment up to 30 pounds. Occasional pushing/pulling of equipment. Frequent stooping, bending. Occasional crouching. Frequent reaching above shoulder level and stretching across work area (30\" depth). Hearing as it relates to normal, high, and low frequencies. Seeing as it relates to general, far, near, color and peripheral vision. Depth perception.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in a chemical or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution. ASCP eligible.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Five (5) years of clinical experience or equivalent in a high complexity laboratory with demonstrated leadership abilities. Experience with the requirements of accrediting agencies preferred. Must possess competency using computer applications such as the MS office suite including excel and power point. Must demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving, and formal project management skills. Must have strong communication skills, work efficiently and independent of direct supervision as well as have the ability to positively influence others. Must have a valid driver's license.
