Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer to build and scale dedicated cloud regions within the Infrastructure Operations team. The role involves data center networking, capacity management, and collaboration with customers and vendors to drive projects forward.

Qualifications

  • IP networking fundamentals (BGP, OSPF) knowledge.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (preferred).

Overview

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Network Infrastructure Engineer to build Amazon Dedicated Cloud regions as part of our Infrastructure Operations team. The role involves scaling support of several data center locations and day‑to‑day capacity management, working closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clearly communicate project status and blockers to leadership and project management.
  • Perform device build and cabling validation activities.
  • Manage cabling vendor activities and perform quality assurance.
  • Support Network Engineering deployment activities during scheduled change management windows and participate in migrations, including off‑business hours, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
  • Complete customer requests via the Remedy trouble ticketing system.
  • Troubleshoot networking, routing, and inter‑connectivity issues, delivering simple, sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes.
  • Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflow, collaborating with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
  • Travel within geographical work area is required; up to 40% travel outside traditional area may be required, possibly including international travel.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Knowledge of network design and layout as well as low‑voltage (copper/fiber) cabling.
  • Current active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with polygraph.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (preferred).
  • Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals such as BGP, OSPF, and other R&S technologies (preferred).
  • General comprehension of the various components and sub‑components of data center infrastructure (preferred).
