Job summary

Scientific Research Corporation is seeking a network infrastructure specialist to upgrade WAN equipment and fiber infrastructure across CONUS/OCONUS, design data center cabling, and work with engineers to ensure layer 1-3 connectivity. The role involves installing routers, switches, encryptors, patch panels, and both inside and outside plant fiber installations.

Qualifications

• CCNA or CompTIA Network+ certification is required.
• Information Technology background is required.
• Experience with WAN/LAN troubleshooting (layer 1) is required.
• 3-4 years of experience with copper cabling (CAT5E/6/6A), fiber (OS2/OM1/OM3/OM4), WAN/LAN troubleshooting, and installing fiber transceivers (SFP, QSFP).
• Experience with outside plant fiber installation and OSHA safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Upgrading WAN equipment and fiber infrastructure at remote locations CONUS and OCONUS.
• Designing and implementing cable infrastructure for data centers and outside plant fiber.
• Working with network engineers to establish layer 1-3 connectivity.
• Installing routers, switches, encryptors, and patch panels in racks.
• Inside plant fiber installation in data centers and telecom rooms.
• Outside plant fiber installation between buildings through manholes.
