Position Scope
This role requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to execute installation procedures with precision. Ideal candidates will have hands‑on experience with rack builds, network device installation, structured cabling, and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Rack and Stack IT Equipment: Install, secure, and cable servers, network switches, storage devices, and related hardware with precision.
- Cabling Infrastructure: Perform fiber optic and CAT5/CAT6 cabling installations, including routing, terminating, labeling, and testing.
- Network & Server Deployment: Assist with staging and installing switches, routers, and servers within rack configurations according to deployment specifications.
- Execute Build Methodologies: Follow detailed diagrams, Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure build accuracy and compliance.
- Inventory & Asset Control: Receive, track, and manage hardware inventory, ensuring accurate labeling and documentation.
- Tool & Equipment Proficiency: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and power tools to support installation and material movement (training provided if not certified).
- Collaboration & Communication: Work with technical teams to ensure infrastructure builds meet project requirements and timelines.
- Maintain Data Center Standards: Uphold site cleanliness, cable management standards, safety compliance, and operational best practices in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Data Center Operations – prior hands‑on work in data center infrastructure, server deployment, or IT hardware environments.
- Warehouse & Material Handling – experience receiving, staging, packing, and tracking technology hardware and equipment.
- Fiber Cable Installation – knowledge of fiber routing, termination, or testing.
- CAT5/CAT6 Cable Installation – ability to install and manage structured copper cabling.
- Network Device Installation – prior experience installing switches, routers, and servers into racks.
- Forklift Experience – certified or willing to become trained.
- Technical Proficiency – computer literate, able to use laptops and IT asset management systems.
- Tool Competence – experienced with manual and powered hand tools (impact drills, screwdrivers, socket tools, etc.).
- Process-Oriented Mindset – able to read and follow MOPs, diagrams, and detailed technical instructions.
- High‑Volume Environment Experience – success working in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments where precision and speed are equally critical.
