Job summary

Henry Ford Health - Careers is seeking a Network Field Engineer to support LANs, WAN connections, and application performance troubleshooting. You will contribute to delivering new functionality and oversee day-to-day operations.

The role requires hands-on experience with Cisco equipment, strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF and EIGRP, and the ability to document network designs using Visio. HIPAA awareness is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred or 1-2 years of vocational training.
• 2-4 years of hands-on networking troubleshooting experience (LAN, firewalls, routers, PCs, printers).
• Pursuing CCNA with 1-5 years of study.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
• Ability to analyze networks and provide effective solutions.
• Experience planning and implementing Cisco-based network solutions; ability to document configurations with Visio.
• HIPAA knowledge preferred.
• No direct supervisory experience required; mentoring others is a plus.

Job description

The Network Field Engineer provides support for LANs, WAN connections, and application performance troubleshooting. This individual is responsible for delivery of new functionality, day-to-day operations, and participating in break/fix activities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Associate’s degree or one to two (1-2) years of vocational technical training preferred.

• Minimum of 2-4 years of In-depth troubleshooting and understanding of practical networking systems such as LAN, firewalls, routers, PC’s and Printers.

• Minimum of 1-5 Years of Study towards a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification.

• Comprehensive understanding of network services and networks such as TCP/IP, OSPF and EIGRP.

• Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues, and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently.

• Can, without assistance, plan, implement, and/or engineer network solutions based upon Cisco equipment with intermediate to advanced complexity. Able to create comprehensive documentation using Visio and related tools.

• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations preferred. Demonstrates comprehensive working knowledge of a technical or specialty area, and of operations, methods, and practices.

• No direct supervisory or leadership experience required. In-team mentoring experience.
