Job summary
A telecommunications firm in New York is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to configure and maintain wireless systems and fiber backhaul. The successful candidate will have 3–5 years of experience in network engineering, strong knowledge of networking protocols, and hands-on experience with various wireless platforms. This role features a hybrid work model, allowing for remote work alongside field engagements, and offers a competitive salary up to $150,000 based on experience.
Qualifications
3–5 years of network engineering experience within ISP, WISP, or telecom.
Strong knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
Hands-on experience with Mikrotik, Ubiquiti, Siklu/Siquligo (or similar wireless platforms).
Responsibilities
Configure, monitor, and maintain point-to-point wireless systems and fiber backhaul.
Travel to local tower and customer sites to install, upgrade, and troubleshoot network equipment.
Participate in on-call rotations for critical network incidents.
Support hybrid wireless-fiber deployments and customer activations.
Maintain accurate CRM and documentation for network changes and service calls.
