Job summary

A leading consulting firm is seeking a Network Engineer V for a 6-month contract located in Owings Mills, MD (Onsite). Responsibilities include designing and maintaining network infrastructure, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring security compliance. Ideal candidates will have strong skills in F5, Cisco, and TCP/IP. Qualifications

In-depth knowledge of protocols, designs, and configuration of data center and network infrastructure related to load balancing solutions.
Experience with F5 Access Policy Manager (APM).

Responsibilities

Analyze, design, implement, and maintain the network’s F5 Load Balancer infrastructure.
Inspect data packets and TCP/IP flow in network and application flow.
Provide architecture/engineering expertise for new implementations, cloud environments, integrations, and project designs.
Offer technical support necessary for security compliance initiatives.
Create highly available and complex network solutions.
Assist in automation and delegation to tier 1 resources.
Design and implement networks supporting business applications.
Troubleshoot and document networks.
Make decisions regarding security issues.
Perform maintenance on equipment.
Provide technical assistance to users and training.
Document the operation of the company’s network.
Help plan network upgrades.

Pay Range: $70 - $75/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Implement: Analyze, design, implement, and maintain the network’s F5 Load Balancer infrastructure.
Troubleshooting: Inspect data packets and TCP/IP flow in network and application flow.
Security Compliance: Provide architecture/engineering expertise for new implementations, cloud environments, integrations, and project designs.
Technical Support: Offer technical support necessary for security compliance initiatives.
Network Solutions: Create highly available and complex network solutions in both data centers and cloud environments.
Automation: Assist in automation and delegation to tier 1 resources.
Cisco Network Engineer
Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain networks that support business applications, including both internal and external networks.
Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and document networks, ensuring all new products are installed properly, configured correctly, and tested before being put into production.
Security: Make decisions regarding security issues, such as protecting data and implementing encryption.
Maintenance: Perform maintenance on equipment, such as replacing old routers or installing software patches.
Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance to users and training to employees.
Documentation: Document the operation of the company’s network by writing reports and creating diagrams.
Planning: Help plan upgrades to the company’s network and work closely with other departments.
