Job summary

General Dynamics - IT is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency's DSMS program in Fort Belvoir, VA.

You will install, configure, and maintain Cisco routing/switching platforms, VPN concentrators, and F5 load balancers, and design enterprise topologies. Responsibilities include implementing routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS), applying STIG/IAVA requirements, ensuring 99.7% uptime, and producing network diagrams, disaster recovery plans, and migration

Qualifications

• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining multi-vendor routing/switching platforms (Cisco).
• Design and implement network topologies with OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and MPLS.
• Apply DoW STIG/SRG requirements to maintain IAVA/IAVM compliance.
• Verify HBSS modules and deploy secure baselines using automation tools.

Responsibilities

Join GDIT and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world’s most complex technical challenges. The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Defense Stockpile Management Systems (DSMS) support is searching for a Sr. Network Engineer to join their team in Fort. Belvoir, VA.

Key Duties & Deliverables

• Install, configure, and maintain multi-vendor routing/switching platforms (Cisco), VPN concentrators, and F5 load balancers.
• Design and implement network topologies, managing complex routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and MPLS.
• Apply DoW STIG/SRG requirements to all network devices to maintain IAVA/IAVM compliance.
• Perform verification across HBSS modules and utilize enterprise automation tools to deploy secure baselines.
• Responsible for ensuring 99.7% network uptime across critical and strategic enclaves, driving cybersecurity compliance through rigorous STIG/IAVA applications, and leading Network engineering initiatives during complex migrations, hardware refreshes, and network outages.
• Design, plan, and execute enterprise network migrations, topology updates, and hardware refreshes (Cisco, Palo Alto, etc).
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network diagrams, rack elevations, and disaster recovery plans.
• Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies.
• Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process.
• Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements.
• Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks
