Job summary

Lockheed Martin’s NetOps Team is hiring a junior Network Engineer to support enterprise-wide network infrastructure in Orlando, FL. The role includes network administration, routine updates, upgrades, and on-call coverage, with US citizenship required.

The position is fully onsite with some off-shift hours and occasional travel. You will work within IT standards and collaborate with the MFC campus and other business areas to meet customer commitments.

Qualifications

  • Experience with installation, maintenance, configuration of Cisco networking devices (switches, access points).
  • Experience in basic network troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting network infrastructure both locally and remotely.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, IP configuration, subnetting.
  • Ability to support a rotational on-call model.

Responsibilities

  • Support Lockheed Martin corporate-wide network infrastructure and act as Network Administrator.
  • Ensure that networks and IT systems are managed and updated per policies and procedures.
  • Support routine updates, major upgrades, and ongoing maintenance of network infrastructure.
  • Assist with break/fix incidents and Service Central project work.

Job description

Standard Job Description Lockheed Martin’s NetOps Team is hiring a junior Network Engineer! This Enterprise Operations role supports unclassified network operations for Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) and other Business Areas in Orlando FL.

What You Will Be Doing In this role, you will support Lockheed Martin corporate-wide network infrastructure as well as acting as a Network Administrator providing operational, sustainment and remediation activities to meet customer regulations and compliance directives. You will ensure that LM networks and IT systems are managed, controlled, and updated in a manner consistent with policies and procedures. This will include supporting routine updates, major upgrades, and on-going maintenance and support of the network infrastructure switches, and network.

As a team member of the IT NetOps team, you will apply established and innovative technologies to meet service and customer commitments. You will support break/fix incidents and Service Central project work within the MFC campus and surrounding facilities. You will adhere to all IT standards and process and procedures, and best practices of all IT managed and controlled network assets.

Further Information About This Opportunity:

This role is fully onsite, including some off-shift hours, weekends, and occasional travel based on business requirements. This role also supports a weekly on-call rotation schedule. US Citizenship is required due to system access.

Designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience with installation, maintenance, configuration of Cisco networking devices (switches, access points).
  • Experience in basic network troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting network infrastructure both locally and remotely.
  • Familiarity/understanding of TCP/IP, IP configuration, peer-to-peer networking and IP addressing and subnetting.
  • Knowledge of CAT5 and CAT6 wiring, single mode and multimode fiber.
  • Familiarity with network design documentation, including Visio drawings.
  • Ability to support a rotational on-call model.
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds and walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and support all levels of management.
  • Ability to follow directions and complete assigned tasks.
  • Ability to create and present briefings.
  • US Citizenship required due to system access.
Desired Skills
  • CCNA and/or CCNP certification
  • Security , CASP , or CISSP Certification
  • Experience with configuration of Cisco networking switches & iOS upgrades
  • Experience with Brocade networking devices
  • Hands-on experience with switching in an enterprise environment.
  • Familiarity with Service Central
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 – $130900.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
