Network Engineer (Medical C4I Lead Support)

The Opportunity:

CCI is seeking a Network Engineer (Medical C4I Lead Support) to support Military Sealift Command (MSC) Health Services, including afloat programs onboard hospital ships. Responsibilities include managing, maintaining, operating, and engineering services for the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) network and other DoD networks. The Medical C4I Lead will serve as a Subject Matter Expert in C4 systems, supporting the MSC MTF Program Manager with strong interpersonal and communication skills and a proven track record in project execution.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain a Hospital Ship IT Planning Document forecasting upgrades, installations, or modifications for at least 5 years.
  2. Support infrastructure for surge manpower capacity increase by 96% within 72 hours during disaster response, ensuring system integrity and security.
  3. Act as Communications Officer for radio systems and traffic, and as part of EKMS team.
  4. Certify that vendor and government information systems comply with security and operational guidelines.
  5. Review and certify System Administrative guidelines, SOPs, and Network Architecture diagrams.
  6. Support hardware maintenance, troubleshooting, and OS upgrades for MTF networks.
  7. Liaise with vendors, DoD, MSC N6x, and BUMED IT Programs Office to maintain configuration standards.
  8. Assist in training new staff on MTF operations, including contract and military ADP personnel.
  9. Manage lifecycle of software and hardware assets.
  10. Design, document, set up, configure, and troubleshoot LANs, including router and switch configurations, IP assignments, VLANs, and hardware/software selection.
  11. Provide updates on system status to MSC and NIWC customers.
  12. Position may require deployment/embarkation with the hospital ship for missions or shipyard periods. Willingness to deploy as embedded contractor support staff is required.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • 15+ years of IT experience, with 10+ in Healthcare IT.
  • Department of Defense SECRET security clearance.
  • 3+ years of hands-on IT shipboard experience.
  • Current IA Technical Level II certification (e.g., GSEC, Security+, SCNP, SSCP).
  • Familiarity with Navy shipboard environments, CANES, ISNS Legacy, and MedCOI.
  • Proficiency with Windows 7/10 and Server 2008/2012/2019/2022.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and travel on short notice.
  • Understanding of Navy logistics policies.

Desired:

  • Certified CISCO Network Associate (CCNA).
  • Experience with Mercy Class hospital ship information systems.
  • Experience with audits of HIPAA compliance and classified material control.
  • Familiarity with JOMIS and other medical information systems like MHS Genesis, OpMed CDP, TC2.

Pay Range

Salary ranges from $105,100 to $231,100 USD, influenced by location, experience, skills, and certifications. We offer comprehensive benefits including healthcare, wellness, retirement, family support, education, and time off. Learn more here.
