Job summary

MatchPoint Solutions in Chicago, IL is seeking a Network Engineer Level 1 to support our global network footprint. This onsite, six-plus month assignment focuses on deployments, lifecycle management, and engineering of LAN/WAN, wireless, and SD-WAN networks.

You will work with IT and security teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure, while sharpening your troubleshooting skills across complex enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of working experience in a customer-driven support role for a large organization

Responsibilities

• Independently lead deployments, new builds, and expansion projects across offices and sites
• Manage full lifecycle of network equipment including procurement, configuration, and decommissioning
• Configure and support LAN/WAN, wireless, and SD-WAN environments (Cisco Meraki/Catalyst)
• Support growth and stabilization of network infrastructure across regional sites
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to improve patching and security posture
• Configure and maintain Zscaler ZIA/ZPA and assist with rollout
• Troubleshoot complex issues across OSI layers and coordinate with ISPs
• Propose tooling, automation, and documentation improvements
• Follow change-management processes for network modifications

The Role

The Network Infrastructure Services team is looking for a driven and hands-on Network Engineer to help build, scale, and support our global network footprint. In this role, you'll take ownership of deployments and lifecycle management across corporate environments, contributing to the design, implementation, and optimization of modern LAN/WAN, wireless, and SD-WAN networks.

You'll work alongside global IT and security teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure, while sharpening your troubleshooting skills across complex enterprise environments. Responsibilities

• Independently lead deployments, new builds, and expansion projects across corporate offices, M&A, and JVs.
• Manage the full lifecycle of network equipment - procurement, configuration, implementation, documentation, and decommissioning - ensuring compliance with Live Nation design standards.
• Contribute to design and configure LAN/WAN infrastructure, wireless, and SD-WAN environments using Cisco Meraki and Cisco Catalyst.
• Support the growth and stabilization of network infrastructure, assisting with design, configuration, and rollout of new regional sites and integrations.
• Partner with global IT and cybersecurity teams to drive patch compliance, strengthen network security posture, and support infrastructure hardening initiatives.
• Configure, support, and maintain Zscaler ZIA/ZPA.
• Take ownership of complex troubleshooting through all layers of the OSI model, coordinating with ISPs and internal stakeholders to restore service quickly and accurately.
• Contribute to process improvement by recommending tooling, automation, and documentation enhancements to strengthen visibility and uptime across all environments.
• Follow established change management processes for all network modifications - submit and document change requests, perform impact and risk assessments, prepare rollback plans, obtain CAB approval, and execute changes within approved maintenance windows.

Requirements

• Meraki experience (Preferred)
• ThousandEyes experience or familiarity
• Familiarity with other network tools
• 2-4 years of working experience in a customer driven support role for an organization of our size
• Understanding of network design theories
• Knowledge of the TCP/IP network stack and OSI model
• Practical knowledge of the IEEE 802 standards
• Knowledge and experience related to IT infrastructure preferred
• Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in a large Enterprise multi-vendor environment
• Hands-on experience with IPsec fundamentals (IKEv2, PSKs, tunnel monitoring/health checks, primary/secondary behavior)
• Experience working in repeatable rollout patterns across many sites (templates/runbooks, per-site validation checklists, documentation hygiene)
• Prior knowledge of best practices regarding network deployments for our venues, offices and client locations. (Preferred)
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in complex, high pressure situations.
• Ability to provide both hands-on solutions and management of projects as well as deliver training
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including VISIO and Excel
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work well in a team environment
• Flexible schedule required
