Job summary

Contact Government Services, LLC seeks an experienced Network Engineer to join a government-focused program in Boston. You will evaluate existing networks, design a unified wired/wireless infrastructure, and coordinate with government personnel and vendors to implement changes.

This role requires strong security, routing, and documentation skills, with hands-on RF and network testing experience. Ideal candidates hold CWNA/BCNE, Cisco/Juniper knowledge, and familiarity with Ekahau, Wireshark, and

Qualifications

Degree in Engineering, CS, Business or related discipline.
Strong documentation skills including updating JIRA Tickets, Wiki Pages and Network Diagrams.
Ability to communicate with end users, cross-organizational staff and technical assistance center.
CWNA Certification or equivalent.
BCNE Certification or equivalent.
Experience with RF site survey tools (Ekahau, RF Scanners, Wireshark).
Knowledge of VLANs, 802.1w, OSPF and VRRP.
Knowledge of network security: 802.1x, MAC Authentication, ACLs, RADIUS and CA.
Linux, MS Server 2013, VMware experience.
Master’s Degree in related discipline.
3+ years experience with disaster recovery planning/testing.
Experience with penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.
Experience with cyber threat information collection and analysis.
Knowledge of Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
Additional industry certifications/licences.

Responsibilities

Operate and manage the NPS network infrastructure.
Improve infrastructure monitoring and reporting capabilities with network management software.
Develop, maintain and deliver infrastructure documentation relating to the network infrastructure within the NPS environment.
Review current best practices and provide recommendations for architecture, design, management and operation of the network infrastructure.
Administration of Cloudpath onboarding, monitoring and troubleshooting of wireless health, patching and updates.
Assess the NPS infrastructure and recommend improvements.
Define and conduct testing procedures for new infrastructure projects.
Implement technology solutions within the NPS network environment.
Provide design guidance on network solutions within NPS infrastructure projects.
Provide informal training and knowledge transfer on best practices and theory of operation.
